Piranha Games’ just released a YouTube launch trailer for its highly anticipated upcoming title, MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries. The video game will be released as an Epic Games Store exclusive, only for PC, on December 10, and the hype surrounding its release makes it one of the most anticipated video games in 2019. The enthusiasm of the fans is likely mostly due to the fact that MechWarrior 5 will be the first single-player title of the franchise since 2002....

Most of the Meizu fans know that the company is going to launch its latest flagship phones on August 8. Interestingly, it is rumored to be the cheapest Snapdragon 845 powered phone, that too with an under display fingerprint sensor. Well, continuing the greats, Meizu has also announced that along with the Meizu 16 on August 8th, they will also finally launch their long awaited speakers, named “Gravity”. One important thing to note here is the company is halting the Friendly Dates feature for this build. It will also not roll it out with the final version of Windows 10 1903, aka May 2019 Update. Steam players have shifted gears from bombing Metro Exodus with negative reviews attacking Epic and Deep Silver to praising the game - while still lambasting Epic. Back in January, publisher Deep Silver abruptly yanked its much-anticipated Metro Exodus from Steam despite originally taking pre-orders for that platform. The company opted instead to release the game exclusively for PC through the Epic Game Store. Unhappy Steam users responded by bombing the game with negative reviews prior to its release....

Set during the Vietnam War, the novel Without Remorse serves as the origin story of John Clark, a former Navy SEAL who goes on a Death Wish-like mission of revenge after his new lover is killed by her former pimp. The story, which is said to have been partly inspired by the novel and movie First Blood, also sends Clark to Vietnam on a Rambo-like mission to rescue American POWs. The character of Clark has been played twice before in Clancy adaptations, first by Willem Dafoe in Clear and Present Danger and then by Liev Schreiber in The Sum of All Fears....

At a delightful behind-the-scenes experience celebrating Sony Pictures Animation’s upcoming Digital and Blu-ray releases of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, members of the press were treated to a sneak preview of the animated short starring John Mulaney as Spider-Ham. “Caught in a Ham” may not be very long, but it’s certainly a treat for fans who were intrigued by the cartoon corner of the multiverse. It will be available alongside film itself, which is out digitally on February 26 and on Blu-ray March 19....

With all the money they’re making from them, Disney won’t be stopping production on Marvel movies any time soon. However, they did give us an ending of sorts with Avengers: Endgame. While there were plenty of sequels set up by the movie, it still felt like a satisfying series finale. The 22-film arc that began with Iron Man and led up to Endgame has been called “The Infinity Saga.” In the 11-year span of these movies, the quality has been surprisingly consistent, but there have been ups and downs....

Metro Exodus is out now, and while it’s the third game in the series, it’s also the most expansive title yet with plenty of new features, like its brutal day and night cycle. Microsoft today announced they’d be laying off 5,000. Cuts will come across all divisions, including: “R&D, marketing, sales, finance, legal, HR, and IT” which Microsoft hopes will save it $1.5 Billion/year. In light of the further deterioration of global economic conditions, Microsoft announced additional steps to manage costs, including the reduction of headcount-related expenses, vendors and contingent staff, facilities, capital expenditures and marketing. As part of this plan, Microsoft will eliminate up to 5,000 jobs in R&D, marketing, sales, finance, legal, HR, and IT over the next 18 months, including 1,400 jobs today....

Microsoft today announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2008 that the New Xbox Experience will launch on Wednesday, Nov. 19, when the company aims to “put more entertainment at their fingertips than any other device connected to the TV.” Microsoft also announced that beginning this month shoppers buying one of these consoles will get a bunch of games for free (at least in the US). But it’s not just games: existing film, TV and music offerings all seem set to be ramped-up with the new “Experience”, which will also offer enhanced sharing and social networking features through Xbox Live (well, that’s if we’re translating this message out of Redmond correctly)....
