Big news over at Microsoft this afternoon. As announced by Steve Ballmer himself, Microsoft unveiled its flagship productivity suite — The New Office, formerly code-named “Office 15”. The New Office Suite can be downloaded from Office.com/Preview and includes new versions of the entire sure – Word 2013, Powerpoint 2013, Excel 2013, Outlook 2013, OneNote, Access, Publisher, Lync etc.. Meizu has today unveiled their latest flagship named Meizu 16S in an event in China. On the first look, it just looks like a minor upgrade of the 16TH launched last year, but read below to know more about the detailed specifications and features it offers. The phone ditches many modern trends that are present on many smartphones launching these days, like a punch hole camera, waterdrop notch, or a lifting camera....

In a blog post, Microsoft said by extending the tool it will help organisations quantify the greenhouse gas emissions associated with their usage of Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams. Microsoft added that using the dashboard, organisations can measure total emissions and break that down to emissions per active Microsoft 365 user. Customers can also segment and filter emissions by scope and data centre region, and estimate the carbon emissions they avoid by moving their Exchange and SharePoint deployments to the cloud....

Microsoft announced today that it’s rolling out standalone Office apps for iPhone after releasing the Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps exclusively for iPad earlier this year. Microsoft previously had an “Office Mobile” app for iPhone that integrated features of all three Office apps, but today’s release of standalone Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps for iPhone are officially replacing Office Mobile as Microsoft’s Office solution for iPhone. Microsoft is also delivering updates for the Office iPad apps that include new features along with the ability to create and edit for free....

Microsoft has officially released Visual Studio for Mac following an extended preview period for developers. The release corresponds with the kick off of Microsoft’s Build 2017 developer conference this week. Microsoft says developers can use Visual Studio for Mac to create “Android, macOS, iOS, tvOS, watchOS, web, and cloud” apps. Microsoft released the initial preview version of Visual Studio for macOS last November. Microsoft also supports Visual Studio Code for Mac as well....

Windows 10 19H1 Preview Build 18298 File Explorer improvements include an updated icon and updated default download folder sorting. There are new start menu improvements that continue to improve upon those with build 18290. You can now utilize the “Quick unpin for groups and folders” which lets you quickly start fresh and reorganize you Start menu layout. Today’s build also includes improvements to the Touch Keyboard for faster response. Console updates which include a new Terminal tab in the Properties page....

Windows 10 Preview Build 20170 Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc writes: “We are excited to announce the rollout of Microsoft Launcher v6 (download here!) to the general public. This launcher is built on a new codebase allowing us to bring multiple new features to you – such as Personalized News, Landscape mode, Customizable App Icons, Bing-Supported Wallpaper, Dark Theme, and numerous performance improvements like speed to load, low memory utilization, battery optimization, and fluent animations....

A game like MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is already setting its laser-sights on a specific target demographic: the intersection between consumers who love strategy titles and those who just love giant, destructive robots. The fact that it’s the first MechWarrior single-player game since 2002 should demonstrate just how niche that audience really is, as 2013’s MechWarrior Online sought to bring the series to a purely online setting in the larger BattleTech universe with the hopes of reaching more people who are interested in online shooters....

Windows 10 Build 17763.107 Today’s update – KB4464455 – is being released to Insiders in the Slow and Release Preview rings and addresses a couple more bugs. We fixed the issue where dragging (extracting) files from a .zip file in File Explorer to a write-protected location you don’t get a “Do you want to replace these files” prompt and the copy action fails silently.We fixed an issue causing roaming profiles to not work correctly....

It’s the new physical manifestation of the philosophical battle between Microsoft’s strategy of managing through necessity and Apple’s “whole widget’ M.O. Naturally it all represents part of the (expensive) marketing hype surrounding the release of Windows 7, itself preceded by the Apples camouflaged cat, Snow Leopard. This second opening has the significance that the new MSFT shop is in the same mall as Apple’s, though in an interesting manouver, Apple’s shop is currently “closed for renovation”....

Microsoft has today launched Send, an experimental iPhone app that offers a kind of cross between email and instant messaging. Microsoft says that it is designed for “brief, snappy communications” where you want an instant response but also want to retain a record of what was said within Outlook. The app was previously leaked as Flow by Outlook. Tellingly, Microsoft is launching first for iPhone – ahead of not just Android, but also its own Windows Phone platform … While tools like text messaging and IM are great for short messages, you often don’t have your co-worker’s cell phone number or an IM app on your work phone....

Today it puts its Windows Mobile line in question by acquiring Danger. Danger built the Sidekick device platform that is very popular with the consumer smartfphone public, but has faltered recently because of the superior Symbian and iPhone operating systems and the Sidekick’s tier 2 hardware made by Sharp and Motorola. The Sideckick OS has very little in the way of multimedia to offer consumers. One thing that sticks out like a really sore thumb is that the Sidekick platform has absolutley nothing to do with Windows Mobile....

Microsoft Teams is a collaborative project tool, where employees and project managers can work together to accomplish many tasks. In the new era of work from home, many companies have switched to Microsoft teams for doing collaborative works. But in some scenarios, projects managers or other ten members are now able to add guest users to the portal. The problem shows an error message, cannot add a guest account, and users do not know how to fix or address the issue....

The MCU has been home to a plethora of villains, each one seemingly out to trump the other with their dastardly schemes and evil plots. Thanos is widely regarded as the best of the bad guys that Disney has given to us so far, while the likes of Killmonger, Hela and the Winter Soldier are also rated highly among fans of the franchise. But what if the heroes, who have so far been successful (just about) in thwarting the villains, were to change sides?...

There’s a new Marvel superhero team coming to the United Kingdom, now that The Union has officially been revealed. Written by Paul Grist with art by Andrea Di Vito, the series will be rolled out during Marvel’s Empyre event and presumably will feature the United Kingdom-based superhero team protecting their homeland from the Kree and Skrull invasion. The teaser image released by Marvel is all the news thus far, showcasing the appearance of the new team....

A site called Windows Prime has posted what Windows watcher Paul Thurrott reckons to be an official specs sheet for the forthcoming Surface Laptop 5. The 2021 Surface Laptop 4 13.5-inch and 15-inch models, which Microsoft released in April, are available with both AMD and Intel processors. However, they are only available with the previous-generation AMD Ryzen mobile processors versus the then-current 11th generation Intel Core CPUs. Surface Laptop 3 ship with AMD processors for the 15-inch model only....

Facebook Messenger and Instagram chats are now officially merged, as the company implements the next phase in its planned unified messaging service for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. We first learned about the company’s plans at the beginning of last year … Later the same month, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed the plans, but stated that the process would take some time. The New York Times is reporting that Facebook plans to combine messaging services across its applications, merging chats from WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger....

Update Monday 11/26 @ 1:30PM ET: For a brief few minutes today, Microsoft officially passed Apple to become the most valuable company in the United States. As reported by Bloomberg, Apple’s market capitalization fell to $812.60 billion, while Microsoft’s continued increasing to $812.93 billion. The numbers continue to fluctuate, and it remains to be seen who will be on top at the end of trading today. Update Sunday 11/25 @ 10:45AM ET: Due to changes in outstanding share counts, Apple still leads Microsoft by $26 billion....
