Windows 10 Redstone 5 Preview Build 17682 The Sets UI experience has been updated to make it more obvious that you can launch apps. In today’s post, Microsoft’s Dona Sarkar and Brandon LeBlanc note: “When you click the plus button in a Sets window, you will now see apps included in your frequent destinations list. You’ll also find that we’ve integrated the all apps list into this page so you can browse your apps, rather than just using the search box apps that support Sets will launch into a tab when clicked....

This build is mainly focused on a plethora of bug fixes, changes, and improvements under the hood. There are a few new features in this build to note, though. Microsoft will likely continue to release new incremental, as well as major, features for Teams every week as it has done for the past few years. The company has been focusing heavily on the telephony features in Teams and will likely continue to do so. It also will likely continue to integrate Teams with even more products and services in the Microsoft stack as the platform moves forward. One of the more major features on the Teams roadmap, on track to debut this month in preview form (according to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap), is the delayed Teams Connect collaboration capability....

Office 2016 Preview Update Today Microsoft’s corporate vice president of the Office Client Applications Services Team, Kirk Koenigsbauer, wrote that the company would be adding features regularly for customers to test, and that “About a month ago, we invited anyone to participate in Office 2016 on Windows Preview. Cannon-Brookes took to Twitter to announce that the Brookfield-led consortium, which includes Grok Ventures, Cannon-Brookes’ private investment company, is “putting our pens down”, after the Australian energy giant rejected a second takeover bid. “Our path was the world’s biggest decarbonisation project. Microsoft has announced a new project management app for premium, business and educational subscribers to Office 365, simply known as Microsoft Planner. The company says that access to the new app will roll out over the ‘next several weeks.’ The addition of Planner to the Office 365 lineup introduces a new and improved way for businesses, schools and organizations to structure teamwork easily and get more done. With Planner, teams can create new plans; organize, assign and collaborate on tasks; set due dates; update statuses and share files, while visual dashboards and email notifications keep everyone informed on progress....

Microsoft announced today on their Office blog that the Office Mobile app for iPhone is now available in Apple’s App Store. However, in order to use it, you will need a subscription to Office 365 Home Premium or Office 365 ProPlus. So, the Office Mobile for iPhone is free only for those that already have an account. And for those who can’t afford it or don’t think it’s fair to pay that much, it’s just unreachable....

At its Build developer conference this year, Microsoft revealed a new “Your Phone” application that it hopes will make iOS and Android devices work better with Windows 10 PCs. New research from J.D. Power released today shares that for the first time Microsoft has beat out Apple and Samsung for the highest overall tablet satisfaction for 2017.
