One of the most unnerving images from A Cure For Wellness’ trailers is a shot of a languid young woman, lounging naked in a bathtub as eels slither and wriggle frantically around her. That’s Mia Goth, the intrepid English ingénue who made her film debut in Lars von Trier’s polarizing and provocative drama, Nymphomaniac: Vol. II, and now stars opposite Dane DeHaan and Jason Isaacs in Gore Verbinski’s latest, a dizzying and demented psychological thriller that hopes to do for spas what Jaws did for beaches....

In making the changes, Microsoft plans to standardize the Outlook app experience across all platforms and the Mail and Calendar apps on Windows 10. Through a project called “Monarch,” the process will allow Microsoft to transition Outlook to one app built with web technologies. In 2022, this standardization will conclude with the same app on all three platforms, Windows, macOS, and the Web. By offering a single product with the same user experience, Microsoft hopes to “have a much smaller footprint and be accessible to all users whether they’re free Outlook consumers or commercial business customers,” according to the report....

Microsoft has shuttered its Word Flow keyboard for iOS, made popular by its one-handed mode in which the keyboard was laid out in an arc … The keyboard – which also offered a Swype-style keyboard with a conventional layout – was originally launched as a free app last year. It was later updated with new search and prediction features, as well as support for 3D Touch. Windows Central points to a message on the Microsoft Garage page....

The Marvel Cinematic Universe may still have a firmly beating heart, but with Spider-Man: Far From Home and, of course, Endgame having been released, fans can fondly begin to look back on the Infinity Saga and all the wonderful superhero moments it gave us. There were countless touching moments throughout the 23-film franchise, but regardless of all the scenes that may have pulled on our comic-book heart-strings, the MCU also gave us some of the best battle scenes in film history....

It has been long forgotten that the Men in Black franchise started with a solid first movie. At its time, it was an inventive sci-fi buddy cop movie, loosely based on a Marvel Comics imprint, and starring Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith in the lead roles. It was cool, slick and tremendous that fans of the movie would cast aside any plot holes that may detract from the movie’s greatness....

According to a report from Nikkei (via Reuters), Microsoft has signed up Japan-based game developer Klab Inc to bring some of its console and PC games to the iPhone and Android devices. There aren’t many other details, but the report claims Microsoft’s next title to arrive on smartphones will be a free-to-play version of Age of the Empires: KLab is behind a few titles already on the App Store and Google Play, including Arcadia, Gigabot Wars, Eternal Uprising, and Lord of the Dragons....

Being intimately familiar with Microsoft’s License team and contracts (yeah, I’ve negotiated a few EAs in my day <unfortunately,>) it’s not everyday Microsoft will give away software. What I’ve noticed is they only do this in new areas where they are looking to pick up market share OR, in areas of fierce competition. My guess Microsoft is trying to keep it’s Rivals (MediaWiki, etc.) out of the Corporate Collaboration space while at the same time deeply embedding it’s new Workflow technologies into the Corporate environment....

MacRumors spotted an interesting report by Data Center Knowledge claiming Kevin Timmons, Microsoft’s former high-ranked exec in charge of their worldwide data center operations, is expected to take a “leadership” position. Prior to spending two years at Microsoft, Timmons worked at GeoCities and Yahoo for nearly a decade. Today, Microsoft published a Knowledge Base article (KB3095675) with information about the changes in the Windows 10 Upgrade Notification. The report details instructions how to manage, schedule, and disable the upgrade. Since then, modifications have been made to GWX, and it is more verbose about when it will happen....

Today, Microsoft released a highly anticipated update for its SmartGlass mobile apps for Xbox One. Following suit with a full system update for Redmond’s newest game console, this refreshed companion app adds fast access to all of your TV and app channels with the introduction of OneGuide support. Also new to SmartGlass are the abilities to compare Achievements, filter recorded game clips and organize your console’s pins remotely. But the standout new feature here is the addition of a universal remote that can be used to control your cable, satellite box or TV....

Phase 4 of the MCU is packed with both big screen and television offerings, but some major characters won’t be appearing. At this year’s San Diego Comic Con event, Kevin Feige and a host of A-list stars took to the stage and revealed Marvel’s plans for the next few years, confirming releases such as The Eternals, Hawkeye and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Across all the upcoming projects, Phase 4 of the MCU will feature franchise veterans such as Thor, Clint Barton and Bucky, relative newcomers such as Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch and Vision and completely new heroes such as Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi....

Microsoft is out with a new iOS app that looks to automate keeping tabs on business expenses. Coming from the same team behind the mileage tracking app, MileIQ, Spend is designed to make expense and receipt tracking easier than ever. As spotted by TechCrunch, Microsoft launched Spend yesterday on iOS. It’s actually a product from the company’s incubator program, Microsoft Garage. The new app looks like it has a clean, simple UI and also features 256-bit SSL encryption for security....

New Standalone Version of Microsoft Office Coming in 2018 This week at its Ignite business conference, Microsoft announced the non-subscription version of Office will be receiving an upgrade later in 2018, called Office 2019. Microsoft released the last perpetual version of the productivity suite in fall 2016, which has become quite dated considering the numerous improvements added to Office 365 since. The new version of Office, which includes Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, will also be accompanied by new on-premise versions of Exchange, SharePoint and Skype for Business....

The Ant-Man movies are not the highest-grossing entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but thanks to Paul Rudd’s reliable charms as a leading man, backed up by a strong supporting cast, the movies are plenty of fun.
