Windows 10 Insider Build 20211 A new search box is being added to the default apps page in Settings. “After making some updates to help improve performance, this change to enable searching the lists of file types, protocols, and apps when setting a default is now rolling out to all Insiders in the Dev Channel,” writes Microsoft’s Brandon LeBlanc. Here’s the list of what’s fixed in today’s build: Fixed an issue where certain 32-bit applications running on a 64-bit OS do not get properly promoted to the discrete GPU for hybrid configurations....

Microsoft today has introduced a new app for iOS and Android that makes it considerably easier for friends and family to make plans while on the go. Dubbed Tossup, the app was developed by the Microsoft Garage, which means it implores new ideas and thinking that the company hopes will catch on to the masses. Tossup helps groups decide on plans by giving them suggestions and allowing each member of the group to vote and suggest other options....

Dolemite Is My Name marks Eddie Murphy’s return to R-rated comedies after two decades, but it’s also a comedic showcase for the actors playing Rudy Ray Moore’s contemporaries. Craig Robinson and Mike Epps shared some of their off-screen musical moments with Screen Rant, as well as all the fun they had on set. First of all, guys, amazing job. This movie so inspirational; it’s fucking great. I loved it. But I gotta ask, Eddie Murphy hasn’t done a rated-R comedy in 20 years....

A new trailer is released for McMillions, the forthcoming HBO documentary series that delves into the McDonald’s Monopoly game fraud. Known the world over with its Golden Arches logo, the fast food restaurant has lent itself to narrative explorations in the past. The Founder, a 2016 biographical drama starring Michael Keaton, focused on the creation of McDonald’s. Documentaries, such as Super Size Me and Fathead, looked at the effects of eating fast food from opposing angles....

Michael B. Jordan has responded to the rumors that he will be the next Superman, but explained that he would rather portray Calvin Ellis. The actor has been a favorite to don the Man of Steel’s cape ever since reports that Henry Cavill was officially stepping down from the role, but it would seem that Jordan has other ideas. As is custom over at Microsoft, today for Patch Tuesday the MSRC (Microsoft Security Research Center) released it’s August 2009 Microsoft Security Patches. 9 Security updates in total. Earlier this month, Microsoft released a useful update to its Outlook app for iOS with new Apple Watch Series 4 complications. Now, the company is back with another Apple Watch-focused update, bringing redesigned notifications for calendar events, emails, and reminders. The new notifications allow you to quickly see email subject lines and content from your Apple Watch. You can also now see detailed event information through Apple Watch Outlook calendar notifications....

Windows 10 19H1 Preview Build 18329 One of the new features includes “Top apps in Search” which will show you the apps you use the most when you open Search. Also part of this build is the ability to run desktop apps in Windows Mixed Reality Environments. “In this update, we added the ability to launch Desktop (Win32) applications (such as Spotify, Paint.NET, and Visual Studio Code) in Windows Mixed Reality, just like how you launch Store apps,” writes Microsoft execs Dona Sarkar and Brandon LeBlanc....
