4A games confidently embrace the evolution of light and shadow rendering, ray tracing. The developer of the Metro series released the third installment in their franchise, Metro Exodus, in early 2019 to much critical praise. The title was lauded for its next-generation graphics and immersive movement systems that put you in the shoes of a soldier braving the harsh apocalypse. The Metro series was initially written as a novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky, who released Metro 2033 in 2005....

The team working on Metroid Prime 4 has welcomed Kyle Hefley into the fold as the studio’s new lead character artist. Halo fans may recognize the dev as the man responsible for designing Master Chief and Spartan Locke in Halo 5: Guardians. While not much is currently known about the next Metroid Prime title, Retro Studios does find itself in a unique position as a company that was approached to spearhead the project after another studio fumbled the development of a fourth Prime title to the point of cancellation....

The video pretends to be a “fly on the wall” during an Apple product development meeting, apparently attempting to make fun of the plastic materials and colors of the 5c. The videos don’t exactly position Windows Phone against iOS, simply taking jabs at iOS without explaining any benefits of the Microsoft platform....

While we wait for the new client, Microsoft continues to update its legacy Lync for Mac 2011 client. This week Microsoft released what it calls the “July 2015 Update” version 14.1.1 aka KB3074981. This latest releases of Lync for Mac 2011 includes over a dozen bug fixes and other updates. Although it’s not the rewrite we’re all waiting for, it’s a welcome release being that we’ve not seen an update to the client since March....

The Windows Team realized it was asking a bit too much of users, and a fix was released to help update devices with low storage capacity easier. Easier Upgrade to Windows 10 1511 on Low Capacity Devices Users should note, this fix is for devices already running Windows 10 that have not been updated to the November Update yet. If you’re still running Windows 8.1, you’ll still have to face the hurdle to get it installed....

You can now add the German mobile app firm 6Wunderkinder GmbH to the growing list of companies with iOS apps that Microsoft has bought in recent months. 6Wunderkinder makes the popular cross-platform Wunderlist task manager for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. According to The Wall Street Journal, Microsoft has spent somewhere in the ballpark of $100-$200 million for the firm. Since CEO Satya Nadella took control of the company from now-retired Steve Ballmer last year, Microsoft has bought several popular apps and services for the iPhone and Mac....

People familiar with Microsoft’s plans have told Bloomberg that the tech giant plans to significantly reduce the cost to PC manufacturers to license the latest version of its operating system. The move is said to come after fierce competition from Apple and Google have hurt Windows-based PC sales. Previously each Windows 8.1 license for a tablet or PC would cost the manufacturer $50. The upcoming drop will bring that down to only $15....

Following the announcement last August that Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer was out the door as soon as the company could find a new captain to lead the ship, the Board finally announced today that it has found its guy: Satya Nadella. As part of the changes, founder and former CEO Bill Gates has agreed to step down from the Board and into a new role as ‘technology advisor’. Gates says he will step up his time at the company meeting with various groups and helping with future products at the request of Nadella....
