This update targets some of the major bugs that were reported with the previous release, build 10051, which was released 11 days ago.

To get this update you will need to be a Windows Insider and in the Fast ring for updates. Just head to Settings > Update & Recovery and check for updates. Microsoft ended up pulling build 10051 for the Lumia 520 devices because some users were reporting the update ended up bringing their phones. Gabe Aul noted on Blogging Windows that the issue has been acknowledged and the company has released an update to the Windows Phone Reset Tool to fix it. Here is a list of the bugs that are fixed in this most recent build.

Flight mode can now be enabled.You can now disable data connections.We fixed the bug in which your phone’s MMS settings were lost after upgrading from Build 9941.We fixed the issue in which you couldn’t download keyboards for additional languages.We fixed the issue where the viewfinder in the Camera app gets composed incorrectly on some devices like the Lumia 1020.

I’m running this on the Lumia 635. I guess, in the announcement Microsoft didn’t say this was going to be a huge stability update based on the list of items fixed… Also, the UI seems slower…well, let the journey continue, hopefully we’ll continue to see further updates on a more regular basis. According to Microsoft, Windows 10 for phones won’t be released at the same time as Windows 10 for PCs and we assume it won’t be until later this fall. Comment
