For over a year now, Microsoft has been offering Active College/University students from around the globe a steep discount for its flagship product Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate.  For US Students, you can grab a copy for $59.95.  That’s a 91% discount off Retail.   Not bad!   6/16/2010 Update – The program has been updated to include Office 2010.  Office 2007 is no longer available.   I read about the program way back…but forgot to post the groovyDeal until Microsoft jogged my memory with it’s latest announcement regarding the new Windows 7 Discount for College Students.  Hopefully, this groovyDeal finds you before you shell out cash for the retail version!

The eligibility rules are relatively straightforward.

You must be a CURRENT student at a College or UniversityThe School must be on the Microsoft Approved listYou must have a Valid .EDU email address. Some schools don’t use an .EDU address so don’t freak out if your (or your child’s) school does not use .EDU addresses.Offer Ends 12/31/2010 according to the Full Terms of Service

Just visit the URL: The Ultimate Steal Website   If you don’t attend a University in the US, just Click the flag on the Top Right of the screen to be taken to your country’s website.  The list is quite extensive and appears to cover most European and several Asian countries.

Would love to hear if anyone has taken advantage of the program personally OR for their kids.  Was it as simple as it looks? Comment
