This morning on Twitter, Microsoft Announced a new program which allows current college students in the US and the UK to receive Windows 7 Home Premium OR Windows 7 Professional at a sharp discount.  $29.99 for US Students and £30 for UK Students.  Students in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Korea, and Mexico can also participate in the offer. However, they will need to wait until October 22nd (Windows 7 Release Day.)  Also, those countries’ student prices are not yet available.   According to the Windows 7 Team Blog, students in the US can submit their orders immediately, but UK students will need to wait until September 30th.  When placing your orders, you will be able to choose either a download link (which won’t be enabled until October 22nd) OR have the media shipped to you for an extra $15. This Windows 7 Academic Offer/Promotion ends January 3rd, 2010 according to the Promotions Terms and Conditions so don’t waste any time grabbing your copy unless of course, you plan to grab a Free copy of Windows 7 at the free launch event OR, you already have pre-order copy on the way.   8/24/2010 Update – Good news (kind of.) The $29.99 student discount extends for upgrades only at the $29.99 rate.  Follow this link for more details.   01/07/2010 Update – Unfortunately the $29.99 Student Deal has ended.  The good news, however, is you can still pick up a copy of Windows 7 Pro for $65 or Office 2010 College Student Discount for $79.99. Here’s the link for both offers also: Microsoft Office 2010 College Student Discount and Windows 7 Discount
