Meizu has big plans for 2018 and it is unfolding that slowly by revealing new devices under its sleeves. Speaking of which the images of a new phone that goes by the name Meizu M816Q are making rounds of various forums. The image set sources back to TENAA, the telecom regulatory authority of China that certifies the devices. We believe it may be the Meizu M8 Lite. Some other sources believe it may be the Meizu 16X. However, the design of this alleged Meizu M816Q is different than Meizu 16.
Meizu 16 sports a dual camera set-up and the OEM did confirm that Meizu 16X will bear similar design as of the former. This device Meizu M816Q is entirely different.
As you can see from the image, the rear body packs a single camera with a fingerprint sensor sitting below it. Also, if you look closely, the front side doesn’t have any notch as the high-end devices bring these days. There is not much information revealed about the specs of this device.
Besides, as per Meizu’s naming system goes, from the Meizu M816Q ‘M8‘ refers to a device made in 2018. The other number ‘16‘ refers to a mid-range or budget device. A simple example can be Meizu 15 which has model number M881M. ‘81‘ refers to a flagship or upper midrange phone. So, in the images, we may be looking at a pocket-friendly device.
When a device shows up, feature keeps revealing gradually. So, we can expect more surprises from this alleged Meizu handset. This may be a mid-range phone from Meizu. In the coming days, we will know whether this is Meizu M8 Lite or something else. It’s definitely a tough question whether this will be able to butt heads against existing mid-range/budget smartphones.
