Star of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Meghan King Edmonds, was questioned by the police about her ability to raise her children after going for a night out drinking. The police responded to a welfare check called in by Meghan’s estranged husband, Jim Edmonds, who claimed to be worried about the welfare of his three children.
Meghan first made her debut back on The Real Housewives of Orange County in 2015 and stayed from season 10 to 12. Meghan married Jim in October of 2014 and the pair share three young children - daughter Aspen, and twin boys, Hart, and Hayes. Back in June, the couple nearly split after Meghan found out that Jim had engaged in sexting with another woman. The two were working through their issues in counseling. Meghan revealed in October that she and her husband of five years have called it quits in a lengthy interview detailing what she calls was an abusive and controlling relationship. After alleging that she had proof of her husband having an affair with their children’s nanny, 22-year-old Carly Wilson, she claims he blindsided her by serving her with divorce papers. Recently, Jim fought back against his wife’s allegations with his own statement last week on his Instagram, where he adamantly denied the allegations.
It seems things are only getting more vindictive and messy between the two. Just two weeks after the pair made their split public, Jim reportedly called the police to do a welfare check on their kids after Meghan went out for a night out with friends on November 7th. A source told Us Weekly, “Meghan came home from being out with friends and she had a couple glasses of wine.” The insider explained that Jim stayed at home and put the kids to sleep, the first time since filing for divorce. Because Meghan had alcohol, she didn’t drive home, according to the source. They explained, “She was washing her face when she heard someone knock around 10:30 p.m. An officer was there with Jim and told her Jim said he was worried she couldn’t care for [their] kids.” An eyewitness revealed that the officer asked Meghan if she felt “comfortable and capable of taking care” of her children.
Meghan replied to the officer that of course, she was, saying, “In your personal opinion, do you think that I am in any way, incapable, of taking care of my three little baby children who are totally desperate for a parent?” The policeman reportedly told the Real Housewife star that he doesn’t “know” her, but he finally concluded that she was competent to take care of her children. According to the source, the officer said, “Right now, my opinion is that you are fit enough to take care of your children tonight and that’s all that I’m concerned with.” Jim was apparently outside while Meghan spoke to the police and went as far as accusing his estranged wife of cheating on him with the man that dropped her off at her home. A second source added that Jim had “offered to sleep on the couch for the night and Meghan rejected that offer.” The source said that Meghan was absolutely “appalled” at the fact that Jim had thought her to be an unfit mother and she thinks that Jim was attempting to get back at her. Jim later revealed why he called the police on Meghan, saying, “I did not call the police on my wife, I called the police to protect the situation and make sure there were no further issues.”
The incident reportedly humiliated Meghan. Fans who have watched the Real Housewives of Orange County star dote over her children on social media can vouch for the fact that by all appearances seems like a very fit and loving mother. Hopefully, this incident will be covered on the next season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
