As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continuously expands on the big screen, it’s about to grow on the small-screen through Disney+. As Phase 4 kicks off in 2020, the MCU is going to start to implement TV shows on the new Disney platform as part of their next slate of films. MCU fans will be able to look forward to shows like Loki, WandaVision, Hawkeye, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Moon Knight that are all in various development stages. As the MCU continues to expand the massive Marvel library, more characters are still due to get their shot in their own solo film or TV show.

With the new format that MCU is doing for their shows on Disney+, there are several characters that would fit perfectly on the new platform. As the previously announced shows gear up to be rolled out in the coming years, there will most likely be more series revealed to be in the works in the coming months. With that said, these are 10 additional MCU shows that Disney+ should consider making.

Nova

Since the beginning of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, Richard Rider/Nova is someone that has been demanded by fans to appear in the MCU. With the presence of the Nova Corps in the MCU, it is only a matter of time before Richard makes his entry. What is lacking currently in the present line-up of Marvel shows for Disney+ is a straight-on space adventure that a Nova series could fulfill. With reports of the budgets for the Marvel shows being as big as they are, a Nova show can be properly done.

Squirrel Girl

While New Warriors almost happened as a series for Freeform, plans got changed. With the series, which would have starred Squirrel Girl, seemingly dead, could Disney+ be a potential home for that show? Chances are that New Warriors as a headlining show will never be done, but a Squirrel Girl focused series should have bigger chances.

With the character having the big popularity that she has, Disney+ would be a platform to bring that character to life.

Jessica Drew

Following the news that Sony and Marvel will continue Tom Holland’s Spider-Man adventures in the MCU, could Disney+ be a place where a Spider-centric series happens? While Peter will most likely remain on the big-screen, there are several characters in the Spider-lore that Sony and Marvel could collaborate on. Jessica Drew is one of the characters that the two companies have shared rights over when it comes to live-action. Whether or not a Jessica Drew series would allow her to fully be Spider-Woman would most likely be up to Sony. But with the character having a lot of history besides her Spider-title, she would be another strong female hero to bring into the MCU.

Miss America

With the MCU slowly beginning to flesh out its presence of diverse and LGBT representation, Miss America is someone who is due for a live-action series. The MCU has only recently begun to introduce younger heroes, particularly through Peter Parker.

But with Disney+ already working on a Ms. Marvel series, there is definitely room for more teen superheroes. America Chavez is another young heroine that would benefit from getting a standalone series where you really get to follow her story properly and unrushed.

Young Avengers

On the subject of teen superheroes in the MCU, Runaways has proven that a group of young heroes works as a show. With Cassie Lang (Emma Fuhrmann) having been aged up following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Kamala Khan and Kate Bishop being on their way: the MCU could bring characters like them together for a Young Avengers series. While the Avengers franchise will surely continue the adventures of the adult heroes, a show following teenage superheroes would be a welcomed addition to the MCU.

Ghost Rider

While Hulu was originally set to produce a Ghost Rider series, starring Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Gabriel Luna, the streaming service ended up scrapping those plans. It’s up for debate whether or not parts of the decision to cancel it were due to the film division possibly wanting to use the character. Either way, the fourth season of the ABC drama proved that Ghost Rider works if he is done right.

With the great reception Luna’s performance got and the demand for more of his character, Disney+ should consider continuing his adventures on their platform.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Spin-Off

ABC is less than a year away from beginning the final season of Marvel TV’s longest-running series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  With several of the characters, which were created specifically for the show, having the following they have, their time in the MCU shouldn’t be over after the seventh season. With Kevin Feige reportedly taking charge of the Marvel TV division, could this be a way where some of those characters get more integrated into the MCU? Disney+ should consider some form of S.H.I.E.L.D. continuation after the series wraps its run on ABC. Something like Agents of S.W.O.R.D. show or Secret Warriors could be fitting ideas to continue using a lot of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. characters who have a lot left to give. Given how the MCU has mostly ignored the events of the ABC drama, Disney+ could be the opportunity to introduce those characters to the bigger audience.

Shuri

From the moment she appeared in Black Panther, Shuri (Letitia Wright) has become a massive fan-favorite by MCU fans. The sequel won’t arrive until 2022 which is a long wait with production most likely not happening until 2021. A Shuri series would allow her as well as other characters from the Wakanda to be further fleshed out whether it’s within Wakanda or elsewhere in the world. If a Young Avengers show were to happen as well, Shuri could be considered to join that team as well. Either way, Shuri deserves to get more stories outside the world of Black Panther and hopefully Disney+ will recognize that.

Ironheart

The events of Endgame saw the end of Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man whose death still hurts to this day. Will the Iron-legacy continue in any way? Perhaps it could through Riri Williams a.k.a. Ironheart, another young heroine that would fit within the MCU. With the MCU shows on Disney+ being envisioned as letting the characters jump between their series and films, doing an Ironheart series to introduce Riri would be perfect. The series could properly explore her origin story before engaging with the other heroes in the larger MCU. This is also where a Young Avengers series would be so beneficial for Disney+ as Riri could be part of a team like that.

Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four is officially back with the Marvel Studios family and after this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Feige more or less confirmed that a project with those characters is in development. But should it be as a movie? While the previous film adaptations haven’t done the characters justice, perhaps the small-screen is where the team should really start at. A Fantastic Four series versus a two-hour film allows the characters to be properly explored and developed, given the big role they play in the Marvel universe.

The same goes for characters like Silver Surfer and Doctor Doom that could benefit from getting six-eight hours of storytelling rather than pulling them off within a two and half hours movie. It’s important to remember that even if the Fantastic Four’s MCU arrival starts on the small screen, it doesn’t prevent them from having big roles within the films. With the dedication that Disney+ is giving to their original programming, it’s hard to imagine a Fantastic Four show not working out.
