For over 40 years, Harrison Ford has been a widely known actor with some of the most iconic roles in recent years. From piloting the Millennium Falcon to discovering lost cities, it seems like any Harrison Ford role becomes an instant favorite.
With his ability to put his own personality in every role and really make it his own, we decided to do run the Myers Briggs test on some of his most well-known roles so you know which character is most like you. This is the MBTI on major Harrison Ford characters.
Col. Woodrow Dolarhyde (Cowboys & Aliens 2011) - ENTJ
Colonel Dolarhyde was the fictional tyrannical leader of a small village in the wild wild west. Although he starts the movie being unliked and a bit narcissistic, he soon changes his ways when his son is kidnapped and he shows his leadership and he learns to trust those he once called enemies to fight the aliens.
With leadership skills and confidence, Col.Dolarhyde is a commander or ENTJ. Like Dolarhyde ENTJs project authority in a way that draws crowds and makes people want to die for them. He takes the situation as a challenge and instead of running he puts his biases aside and works to defeat the aliens.
Rick Deckard (Bladerunner 1982;2017) - ISTJ
Rick Deckard is the bounty hunter, in charge of destroying androids that come from off-world planets into earth. In the 1982 film, he starts off as a cocky and selfish cop, with no regard for android or human life, just destroying and taking pride in his work. He later had a change of heart and was able to change his personality to a more empathetic and wise person who thinks before they act.
His growth and his strong will are best defined by an ISTJ. Logisticians are very practical and are very stubborn to change in their ways, but only do when the person they respect or admire pushes them to, much like Deckard and Rachael.
Richard Kimble (The Fugitive 1993) - INTJ
Richard Kimble was a doctor who lived a normal life until his wife was murdered by a one-armed man and he was framed for it. Instead of giving himself up, he decides to look for the real murderer all while outrunning the police and trying to proclaim his innocence.
Even though he’s being chased, he believes in his plan, that everything will be all right after, making him an Architect or INTJ. His optimism and self-confidence led him to find the killer even though everyone told him he wouldn’t be successful which is the reason he is a textbook INTJ.
President James Marshall (Air Force One 1997) - INTP
This thriller takes place almost exclusively on a plane as President James Marshall and his family is on board when the plane gets hijacked by terrorists. Having a military background, President Marshall is able to successfully save most of the people on the plane and defeats the terrorists by outsmarting them.
A man who can stay calm under pressure and still manage to lead and successfully maneuver around his problems is a Logician or INTP. He doesn’t back down from the threat and instead plans and executes his plan to save his loved ones.
Col. Hyrum Graff (Ender’s Game 2013) - ESTJ
Colonel Hyrum Graff was the leader of the international fleet and administrator of the Battle School in Ender’s game. He played no BS and was a hard man to please. He liked pushing people to his potential, lying to Ender about the simulation and even lying about being his son’s real father. He later becomes more caring but it was too little too late.
Graff was a true Executive, he knew what to say to bring his academy together and to bring people closer. He was strong-willed and very stubborn along with being hard to impress.
Jack Ryan (Jack Ryan Film Series 1992-1994) - INFJ
Jack Ryan is a rare type of action hero. He’s been played by a lot of actors similar to James Bond. He’s a spy an instead of fighting he uses his brain on several occasions over his brawn.
As an Advocate, Jack Ryan is decisive, insightful, and he usually considers others when he’s making plans.
Branch Rickey (42 2013) - ESFJ
Branch Rickey was the real-life general manager for the Brooklyn Dodgers and is portrayed for his role in Jackie Robinson’s success. Rickey was a game-changer, giving an African-American an opportunity when no one else would and it turned out to the greatest decision he ever made.
Against all odds, he motivated Jackie when it seemed like the world was against him and he held his prejudices to be a better person. He is defined as a consul for his willingness to do good and motivating others to do the same.
Dr. Robert Stonehill (Extraordinary Measures 2010) - ISFJ
Dr. Robert Stonehill was the doctor in the movie that was recruited to help with the protagonist’s daughter when she comes down with a life-threatening disease. He works tirelessly to find a cure and works even though it seems impossible.
When it comes to nurturing loved ones and an “If I can protect you I will” type of person, he is best described as a defender.
Indiana Jones (Indiana Jones Saga 1981-2008) - ISTP
Does he really need an introduction? Indiana Jones is the history professor with a hobby of exploring the world and finding items or discovering cities that had been lost for years. He defines cool with his knack for discovery, his luck with the ladies, and his hatred for Nazis. Even 40 years after his movies, he is still a fan favorite hero with a cult following.
When it comes to being creative to get what you want, both virtuosos and Indiana Jones share that in common. Both ISTPs and Indy are explorers they want to experience things, feel it with their own hands and see it with their own eyes. They experience things through trial and error and are enigmatic
Han Solo (Star Wars Saga 1977-2019) - ESTP
Another character that doesn’t need much of an introduction. Han Solo is the pilot of the Millennium Falcon and a general in the rebellion, most importantly one-third of the original trilogy trio. We could go on and on Han Solo but the gist is he’s a cocky and brash pilot that seems to march to his own beat, especially when it comes to listening to authority.
Han loves life on the edge, only looking out for himself, which is why he is perfectly defined as an ESTP. He doesn’t take things seriously but always seems to come through and is especially good at leading although he usually doesn’t have an interest in it.
