Meizu is expected to launch the 16S series smartphones soon this month. The phones will be an update to the 16th flagship duo launched by Meizu last year. Design wise, don’t expect a major upgrade as the main aim of Meizu now is to make their bezels as small as possible with the selfie camera and sensors still inside. Previously, we reported that the growing cast list for Avengers: Infinity War had seemingly added Michael Rooker to its ranks - reprising his role as Yondu from Guardians of the Galaxy - when the actor took a selfie at Starbucks while wearing an Infinity War-branded beanie hat. Today Microsoft released Data Protection Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 (Sp1.) It’s a big release which is why I thought it was worth a mention this morning. Although I’m not using it on any of my Production systems yet, DPM is a VERY promising alternative to the standard Tape Backup solution for Exchange and SQL. Of course, as I get my hands dirty with DPM, you should expect the How-To articles to begin flying out here at groovyPost....

Windows 10 19H1 Preview Build 18312 This build includes Microsoft’s changes to managing disk space through “reserved storage,” for a smoother upgrade process. The company says, “Through reserved storage, some disk space will be set aside to be used by updates, apps, temporary files, and system caches. The Sets feature is a tabbed-windows experience that lets you group together different apps on your desktop. Think of it like having different tabs open in your browser, but for apps and File Explorer. It’s a nice way to organize and access a set of apps and makes it much easier to navigate between them and improve your workflow. Details on why it was removed and when it will come back have been vague....

Microsoft Update Adobe Flash Player Fix (KB3132372) According to Microsoft, this update fixes vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge for Windows 10 Version 1151 (November Update). The affected software includes Flash Player in IE 10 and IE 11 in Windows 8, 8.1, RT, Server 2012, and Windows 10 as well as Microsoft Edge in Windows 10. Microsoft is today launching a new Xbox Live mobile SDK to iOS and Android to allow developers to bring Xbox Live functionality to mobile platforms. The Verge reports that features such as achievements, Gamescore, hero stats, friend lists, clubs, and a few family settings will be available on both iOS and Android. Microsoft is pushing hard at making its Xbox Live SDK available everywhere, not just on its Xbox and Windows platforms....

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates says that Microsoft missed out on a $400B market by letting Google turn Android into the only real alternative to the iPhone. Software giant Microsoft will release in the second quarter a high-profile productivity tool for Android-toting business professionals. Accompanying Microsoft’s CRM Dynamics 2012 platform update is a preview guide that specifically mentions Android support, as noted by ZDnet. The document also includes a screenshot depicting Dynamics CRM mobile client for iPad (as seen on the right). In addition to native clients for Android devices and iPads/iPhones running iOS 5.x, Dynamics CRM will also be available on devices powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone software....

Earlier this week Microsoft introduced an updated version of its OneNote app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and today new versions of its Office for iPad suite have been released. Version 1.1 of Office for iPad introduces a list of new features in the first major update to the tablet productivity apps. Included in the update is the ability to send files from Word and Excel as a PDF file, a new Presenter View for PowerPoint, and a list of several more features....

Note that this tool is not meant to replace your current antivirus program – it’s just a supplement. It doesn’t provide real-time protection and cant update its virus definitions. The program expires after ten days, which means you’ll need to download it again if you want it to be up-to-date. This isn’t a new security tool by any means, it was actually part of Microsoft’s first attempt at a security solution — Windows Live OneCare which was discontinued in 2011....
